KW Awesome Foundation is a local group of volunteer Trustees who commit their time and money to funding great projects, ideas, and causes in Kitchener-Waterloo and nearby communities.

We hit the ground running in 2011 and have helped fund projects involving community building, environmental action, student initiatives, independent film, food access, community workshops, art installations, cycling, radio, and more.

Every other month, we award a $1,500 grant through a Pitch Night. Selected applicants speak in front of the Trustees and explain why their project matters. After the pitches, the Trustees select a winner.

Pitch Nights

Pitch Nights are public community events where people share ideas and connect with one another. Applicants pitch for five minutes, answer a few questions, and hear other local ideas.

Community members are welcome to attend whether they are pitching or observing. Pitch Nights are hosted in accessible public spaces.
